Le Marin is a municipality in Martinique with 7,300 residents, known as the Marinois. It is one of Martinique’s sub-prefectures. Its name comes from its location at the head of a sheltered bay that has long served as a harbour. Today, it is home to a large marina. Boating and sailing are central to local life, and there are also places to swim nearby. Cap Macré, on the Atlantic coast, is a beautiful, unspoilt beach sheltered from the waves by a coral reef. Head up Morne Gommier to admire Le Marin from above. You can also take an Aqua-Bulle boat trip to discover the underwater world. Be sure to visit the town’s charming little church.
